“ISN’T IT FUNNY HOW DAY BY DAY NOTHING CHANGES, BUT WHEN YOU LOOK BACK, EVERYTHING IS DIFFERENT…”
— -C.S. Lewis
“Time stops for no man” or so the saying goes. Indeed, how true it is. I’m now 22.
How’d that happen?!
Did I miss the in-between?
I haven’t missed a thing.
I’ve been on a crazy road these past years. There have been dark nights where I thought the sun would never rise. Nightmares, snares, and tears that took a piece of my heart with every sob. I’ve been broken, I’ve been shattered. I’ve seen the bottom of my soul and been scared to look up. I’ve feared the morning…
But don’t let that fool you.
I’ve seen the sunrise.
I’ve dreamt of the sweetest light.
I’ve climbed out of the darkness. I have been bold. I have taken risks. I have rejoiced, laughed, danced, and had my cheeks hurt from smiling. I’ve almost made abs out of laughing so hard.
Again…don’t be mislead.
All of the good things have never been me. Any good thing I’ve ever had has been God. He’s been with me from the start.
I met Him when I was a child. I watched Him and His love in my parents. I got to know Him through that great Love Letter He left us.
He grieved when I grieved. He watched over me when I thought the world was over. He guided me to Himself so that I would know my life was still just beginning. He held my hand through all the anger and frustration. He lifted me up when I started to see the horizon in the distance. He lead me into the light of His glory. He gave me people to teach me, instruct me, correct me, encourage me.
Don’t miss the point.
God has never once…
ever failed you or I!
But how many times have we failed Him?
How many times have we shrugged off His help, denied His words, walked away from His blessings? How many times? You could never keep count.
But for this very simple truth…
God will be with us
We can walk. We can grow to know Him more than ever. We can rely on Him, relish in Him, and work for Him.
And it will make all the difference.
We can know it only gets better from here.
Just have to keep our eyes up
“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”
— C.S. Lewis
